Welcome to the Churnet Valley pages. This site is dedicated to the River Churnet and its surroundings, from its source in the Derbyshire Peak District, through the Staffordshire Moorlands to its confluence with the River Dove. The area is rich in history and natural beauty and has much to offer visitors: ramblers, climbers, steam buffs, canal boaters and roller coaster enthusiasts are all catered for, as are those who just fancy a short stroll after a good lunch.
